hypoallergenic dogs

There is hope for hypoallergenic dogs

Most dogs are healthy little animals that will not suffer or cause ill health throughout most of their lives but hypoallergenic dogs are the exception and since they can cause allergic reactions in their owners special care is needed to maintain the health and satisfaction of their masters.

Many of these dogs are actually a health hazard to their owners because there is a myth that people with allergies to dogs are safe with certain breeds of dog. This is untrue and there are no hypoallergenic breeds, though some come very close and are significantly less prone to cause allergies in their owners.

You might get lucky and find one dog in a litter that effects you less seriously than others because the animal is relatively allergen free. But all puppies have soft and supple skins and at an early age allergic people can handle them without any great reaction. Dander is often the cause of allergic reactions but most reactions come from the secretions of sebaceous glands.

Because dogs don’t clean themselves they can have more dander than other animals but even if you suffer from a reaction to dogs all is not lost because there are a number of things you can do around the house and you can even purchase products to ease the problems created by hypoallergenic dogs.
