dog crates

dog crates, Crates for dogs and housing your pet

Every dog needs a home to call its own and these highly territorial creatures will get very upset if they lack a secure place to sleep, however dog crates are not exactly houses for your pet but are in fact training tools that you can use to help improve your pet’s habits.

Crates come in many forms though most are either Fiberglas or wire. This is an important feature because whatever purpose you put them to, you are going to want to see what your dog is up to in its crate.

Some uses for the crate include housetraining, where you place your pet inside the container in order to teach it to use the litter tray. Another use is to protect your dog from excitable babies, or conversely to keep the dog away from the baby. In the same way a crate can be a safe playpen for your puppy while you are out of the house. Finally, it can be a protective environment for puppies that get too excited and risk injuring themselves or urinating on the furniture.

So you can see that dog crates are not exactly the same thing as dog kennels or houses because their function is one of protection and training rather than housing and security but they can be just as useful and important in the education and life of young dogs.
